This particular book began with a really strange thought: What would Steampunk be like with magic? No I love Steampunk as a genre, and I love fantasy of all kinds. This struck me as an interesting question.
I looked at the Victorian era, which technically ended in 1901, and found the actual time period, well boring. Lots of political changes, but very little conflict on the international scene. Only a decade later (give or take) and we would have what would be called the Great War, and then the period in between. Indiana Jones sprang to my mind. Nazis sprang to my mind.
Heh. Springs...
Anyway. I'm mixing three genres here.: Low fantasy, Steampunk, and pulp adventure tales.
Next time, I'll try and layout the groundwork of the setting, the who they what, the history. After that, I'll give you the elevator pitch and the back cover blurb.
